I like Lanvin aesthetic - somewhere between chic and shabbiness, always very elegant.

Well I somehow appreciate the purity in comparison with the recent collections which (to me) were dominated by jewelry, too much zippers and patch-like weaves. Apart from that I think this was boring, and included too much shiny fabrics and strange footwear -- horrible boots and if I want tasselled loafers I go to Gucci.

while having the usual elegance, I really think there is quite a lot of interesting play of shapes in this collection such as the second photo.
I acutally like the styling with tha hat and everything which adds a touch of mystery but the loafers and light coloured socks just killed it all and turned the whole thing into a MJ outfit

Easy to like and the details are generally stunning in person. I'm glad the softer side of the Lanvin man is back. That over tough thing just didn't sit well, felt forced.

Better than usual from the Stan and Ollie of Menswear.

But still too many superfluous twiddles and funny peculiar fits.

They are obsessed with this element at Lanvin - every season they present loads of hats although this accessory is not very popular nowadays.

Anyway I think it's an interesting thing to see how a classic fashion house becomes a modern one!

The house is the oldest in operation but Lanvin menswear started in 2006 iirc

I really enjoy the dualities achieved here. While I have enjoyed past men's collections from Lanvin, I feel like many of these pieces could be added to soo many different wardrobes. Doesn't really single out any specific aesthetic. I see bits of old Raf/Ann/NN/and Rick, but simply hints of each while still remaining to capture the overall Lanvin aesthetic.

I thought it was producing some suits and so on for a long time. I have seen a lot of vintage Lanvin menswear items

Yes you are correct, there always was some kind of Lanvin menswear (and some 80s stuff from the US labelled Lanvin) but it was never a strong line or relevant, IMHO. There's no real heritage regarding Lanvin luxury menswear I think.

Daym, probably my favorite of the lot.

I agree with you! Most of the french fashion houses paid little attention to menswear (probably, because men didn't pay too much attention to fashion at that time): Givenchy, Lanvin, Balmain were producing their clothes for men (mostly formal suits etc.) on franchise - there is no real heritage, you are right! And now they are trying to be modern and avantgarde in a certain way (if compared to Louis Vuitton, Hermes and so on). That's what I mean)
