yep LA, I know he's in SS but there's another one I'm forgetting it's the one that I always see in Amoeba, just totally spaced on it.
I was really into AP new line but after checking his website I guess I'll have to see it in person.

That's a really sharp collection. Serious tailoring. Is it being produced in NY?

              Beautiful video.

Apparently, you don't need to mention in the credits who performs the music.
Just as well in this case, since it's annoyingly out of tune for the entire two minutes.

                  can't help it.
If you sample three seconds of recorded music, pick the take that was out of tune, then multiply it times 40, I turn off the sound.
                  In theory.

It's Steve Reich's Violin Phase, an amazing piece by one of the greatest living composers.

                      Slightly repetitive no?

oh it is Reich, I didn't know.

I don't like the performance. What sounds like a double stop - I'm no expert on violin technique btw- has an e as a continuing top note that is too low all the time. When it ends on a fourth interval with the bottom melody, the interval is too small. Maybe Reich wrote it like that on purpose, but I highly doubt it.
If you play an interval that way once, you can get away with it as being expressive, but when you play it 40 times it gets all the focus.

Well perhaps I'm overreacting. I've performed a lot of Renaissance music, where intonation is much more refined than it is now. My ears are ruined.

That's the whole idea of the piece. It starts with the violins being played together, and then deliberately made out of sync gradually. Reich has done it a lot, with Piano Phase, Come Out etc...

I wasn't talking about playing out of sync.

Hah yeah after reading your reply i defer to you on matters of intonation. I'll need to compare this version to the recorded verision I have and see if I note a difference.
