qazwsx - what I like about Rigards is that they are handcrafted from Horn and seem very well made. That said - have you checked out Hakusan frames - saw them on HLorenzo as well? They may be another option for you to consider.

Has anyone handled these frames? I noticed that they are stocked at H Lorenzon and L'eclaireur.

Am desperate for new frames and would love some input
Ask andrewisawarlord - he'll tell you all about them. They are very well made, I can tell you that.

I own RG 0008 in black sanjuro. They are very well made. The only thing that might disappoint someone is default case. I'm also going to purchase RG 0028.

Wear shades whenever I'm out and being without them, makes me feel naked. I have a pair of Effectors 'Big Tramp' to clothe my eyes. Not seen them mentioned on this thread but they're hand-made in Japan and are composed of celluloid (really hefty stuff!).

and the ugly branding on the shaft of the temple. it really ruins the crafted appearance of the frames.

Eh, I was okay with the branding, but for me most if not all of Rigards are too thick for everyday glasses. It's probably okay for sunglasses, but for glasses, it becomes the glass wearing you, not the other way around. I had to return.

Did you find them heavy - I ask because am thinking of turning them into everyday glasses. Granted - the frames are not understated - but did you feel they were overwhelming?

It wasn't light but I didn't think it was too heavy, it definitely overwhelmed my face as a look though.

copacetic - thanks for mentioning Hoffmann. They look pretty good - it seems as if there aren't that many eyewear companies that offer designs in buffalo horn - and those that do - like ralph vaessen seem hard to find.

Just purchased a pair of these hand crafted glasses from Japanese artisan 角矢甚治郎
This limited series "豪" are based on few legendary samurais (劍豪)
chose 十兵衛 in black after all....

                                decent wood case.
made and crafted of thick "celluloid"
