Yes or No?

Considering the amount of CCP love prevalent on SZ, I feel really silly posting up a CCP item on the Yes or No thread here..haha! But I figured it was worth a shot..

I've been on the hunt for a pair of leather shoes / boots with a greenish tone to them. I found a pair of CCP derbies in the most wonderful greenish grey color in my size at A. Only problem is they're $1670.



To aid in my purchasing decision, I was hoping some of the venerable CCP experts on this board could help answer my questions:

1. How rare is this particular pair? If I was patient enough, would I be able to find a pair on the secondhand market (Y!Japan, Sufu, SZ Classifieds, etc)

2. Would you recommend this colorway? I'm just hoping that it doesn't turn out to be one of those colorways that "makes sense in your head" but isn't all that versatile when you actually put the shoe on.

3. Does anyone know of other places selling this particular pair for less than $1670?

4. Can anyone recommend cheaper alternatives?

I'm with you on this one Faust - it's gotten to the point where I've seen them worn and I've seen them in person, I've seen them online and I've seen them in magazines, I've heard the arguments and I understand the reasoning, but when it comes down to it: I see no attraction.

Most likely the reasons why I like these particular CCP shoes are the very same reasons why you don't like em. I'm a fan of the chunky sole and layered leather heel, the crinkled toe box, and the overall silhouette– not too rounded, not too pointy. Oh, and I'm definitely a fan of the greenish-greyish color. I just wanted a second opinion– preferably from someone who owns shoes in a similar color.

when i was in tokyo, i saw a pair like this and a pair in the grey/white which is super sick (9)
i would go for this you wont regret it.
this season is an amazing leather and will go down as one of his bests. thats the truth.

no hate - they are simply ugly. i can stomach the all black ones, but these just look like they came out of a garbage dumpster.
