Both of those have the drop crotch and they're WAY oversized. I'm a 32 waist and size med. (in womens) were a bit too large for my tastes. In guys, the small was about the same as the women's med.

But the women's are sized down a bit from the men's at least.
Kind of like the tanks...with a bigger size, you mostly get more length than anything else.
But they're kind of misleading from fit pics...I'm guessing even an XS would be fairly big on me just from the cut.
The women's have a nice paneled taper to them and the guy's seem to have less of a taper and more of an angled cut to the hem.
The funny thing is that they're not much more than glorified cut off sweat pants.
I'd stick to the womens for the cut though and size at least one size down, maybe 2 if you're small.

edit: the women's I have are different than those. Mine have front patch pockets. These actually look like a stretched-out cut off version of the leggings. because of that articulated knee-pad thingy.

the men's ones would be gigantic, guys can size down one or two sizes in them. I actually have the womens drkshdw ones from this season and they fit significantly smaller and shorter, but still oversized. the waist on them is also very stretchy so I would size down in them. otherwise they are pretty nice and comfortable, I'm wearing them right now

I think the fit actually works better on guys for this cut. There's nothing very feminine about it. What IS feminine is that I think that's the double layer silk version instead of the jersey version.
I could be wrong. But if it's the double layer silk, your man parts are going to be poking out all over the place and it will have a feminine look to the drape as it (ahem) hangs off your body.

If it's the jersey version, go for it. I just remember some seasons of the Lilies shorts being super wispy. Almost too wispy for a guy so if you're getting them online just check the material if you're concerned.
Fit? A-OK. Material? Possibly questionable.
