it's a nice piece, and even tho it's not very "unique" design I don't see anything wrong with it. But if you're just starting to build a new wardrobe (dunno if you mean that in terms of just getting into "SZ-Style") you might want to start off with simpler and easier-to-combine items?

What's your opinions about the Rick Owens shearling showtek? Also what is the going price for a used but new condition one in a smaller size. Debating between this or a balmain shearling.

Go with the Rick who the hell knows lol I see people listing them in excess or $2k and eBay auctions ending at $6-700 so maybe somewhere around $1200, a nice showtek has always been on my wish list but has never made it into my closet. Maybe someone else had a better opinion.

I am wearing mine today and on a cold day nothing beats it. The only downside for me is the lack of interior pockets.

I like the shape, dislike perf and the leather. Archive carries the brand as well. Fits half size big

^ I wouldn't wear them myself but if you really like them go for it. As a short, I believe the texture stand out a bit too heavy to match up with a regular/sheer top. You can relief the texture by wearing a loose wool legging underneath though.

^NO from my side, I absolutely dislike all that perforated stuff this season plus the fit of these is rather odd. The gathered leg kills it IMHO
