While I find the grey 'asphalt' texture and colour to be more stark and beautiful, I'm afraid it could come across as a little costume-y. Black would be the safe choice, not sure I want to take it though.

to be honest, not just 'a bit'. the asymmetry seems completely for free here, not to speak of the pockets' design. I prefer when In Aisce is less baroque.

Asphalt. One of the best materials out there that you'll fall in love with, when you see it up close. It's an Asian technique where they take the quill and bring the bottom layer slightly through the top layer to give it that blended, tracking method that looks like paint or spray, but it's really wool brought through wool. I have a few pieces in that material and love them. The elevation coat and upcoming F/W 2013/14 inverted color pieces are better than that one IMO, but I'd go with asphalt for sure. Black is, well, black. We all own more black than any human needs and that asphalt material is one of the most unique wools on the planet.

coat is fucking badass. get the black that way the cut and asymmetry are the focus

I just can't get over how tacky this coat looks. The fabric might be very nice on the ashalt, but the black is obviously the best choice as it partly conceals the hideousness of the pocket, cuffs etc. I get more depressed the more I look at it.
