Being short and pulling off clothes for tall people

i know there are probably some stylezeitgeist guys out there that are below 6 feet tall

how do you guys cope with and pull off wearing clothes for tall people?
for example, i own a single button viridi anne blazer in size 46
it fits fine in the shoulders, but i'm obviously 4 inches too short for it
i just wear it long but occasionally it's obvious and just makes me look shorter

Tailor it, modifying a piece to fit your body will make a world of difference.

Alteration in this case is probably not a good idea...since the position of the pockets are fixed, the whole balance will definitely look off. Wear more Yohji perhaps? lol

Hated being short (5'8") when I was younger, mostly because I could never find clothes that suited me. Then after many many years, I realised I was just buying the wrong clothes.

i actually love how some of the clothes look longer on me than they should. the real problem is that very often i need to do something about sleeves on the jackets... and i need to make almost every pants shorter.

i have three suggestions for you: thom browne, saint laurent paris, label under construction ;)

Second that Thom Browne suggestion. But also take a look at the type of garment itself. For example take bomber jackets because of their shorter boxy shape it should fit you better than long coats. Amazingly enough some rick stuff fits me fine off the rack (memphis jeans) and im about 5'7 too.

some designers are inconsistent as hell with their sizing though
i have a pair of julius cargos from insanity industrial inc in size 2 and they're huge on me, but i've tried fw13 cargos in size 2 that are perfect on me
