cool design no doubt, however I've read very mixed reactions to the quality, construction and functionality of those gloves.

no recommendations for fingerless leather gloves? I've scoured the gloves thread but no leads there, need something to tide me over until I can cop KKA gloves in person.

I have those gloves, they're great. They're not the easiest to put on at first but after a while you get the hang of it. It's also a good thickness for where I'm located but I think they'd be too thin to be used in sub-zero weather. Thumb/forefinger separation also works well for me because I'm into photography.

D, if you're after fingerless gloves it'd be worth scouring Y! for the burnt reverse pair that merz has from '03 _7, the leather treatment alone blows the current season ones out of the water.

Avantster are Q's fingerless gloves or fingerless mittens? would prefer something with separated fingers as it keeps the heat in (and makes you realise how damn cold your fingertips are ).

Right, they are indeed fingerless mittens, they're a fair bit longer down the forearm, much like grandma+s armwarmers but in a gnarlier leather.
