yeah but the soles of doc martens are mad slippery when the ground is frozen over. I almost ended up slipping into a rather scary mountain ditch wearing my docs (I had to walk a fair distance in my socs to avoid dying. fortunately, I was wearing ridiculous toed socks)

Does any pair of shoes without spikes work on frozen ground?
I agree that even docs are slippery when the profile of the sole is full of snow. But they are the only boots (in my cupboard) I can think of to maintain some style in these conditions.

I agree about the docs (except mine are not Yohji's, but still good and almost indestructible).
I'm glad, they were always hurting me, but I've been wearing them all day since last week and now I'm finally used to them !
