Does anyone know how to go about obtaining Margiela's couture pieces? I'm interested in this particular biker jacket from the Fall 2011 Couture collection. I'm aware that it'll cost a bomb but I was wondering if anyone has purchased/enquired about it before I contact the company.

    Cheers

Would someone care to comment on the new version of the Rick Owens long sleeve unstable tees?
The Girocollo ones , was curious if they stretch out like crazy like the original ones did , the fabric seems a lot more stretchy and dense than it used to be. The cuff seems to be updated too so it retains its elasticity...

Im a actually after a leather from the FW10 goth_ik. the rider version.
Im useally a 48/50. so thats why im asking if I have any chance squeezing into an size 2 in that current season.

I really like Homme Deux, I think the balance between conservative tailoring and Comme fun is just right (well ok, I think it could be a touch more fun, but I guess that's not really the point of the line). And yeah the fabrics and construction have looked beautiful the past two seasons that I've seen.

as a rule of thumb: yes. sometimes a 2 may be a bit smaller than a regular 46. this is more applicable to older season stuff, like '06 and back.

                  Los Angeles tailor

Does anyone have a recommendation for a tailor in L.A.? The tailor/alterations thread seems dead.

Ok guys, I really need some advice here.
I absolutely love this julius SS11 cowl neck, but I just can’t get rid of the feeling that it’s too long for my body height. That’s why I’m thinking about shortening it a bit.
I paid a high price and any alteration will minimize the re-sale value considerably, in case that I should decide to part with it some day. Also, I’m afraid that it might ruin the whole jacket.
On the other hand, I think that I would get much more wear out of it, it it was a bit shorter.

I took some photos to show the difference. The first 3 show the normal length.
On the last 3 I took the hem in around 2“ to show how it would look shortened.

Please let me know about your opinions.

                    Normal length:

                      P,

the shorter length is far better
but I can tell you that it will take a lot of work to shorten the Jacket as the Zipper will have to be removed to shorten the length............if you can find a good alterations specialist to do and you really want the piece then by all means go ahead........

agreed with zamb on both the fitment and the alteration

I'm quite sure Julius_7 will reissue the cowl neck leather in shorter lenght though. sooner or later. :D
but anyway, it is much better with shorter lenght.
just find a specialist to do it coz as zamb said, its quite much work.
and take a note on the waist. since you're shorten the lenght the waist opening might change as well.
still trapped in my juvenile state

@diorowen good point about hem width. Will consider that.
