      I'm not an expert, so maybe somebody else can confirm.
      I only looked into this when buying my high neck intarsia last week.
      According to the RO store in London,
      LV = vegetable dyed lambskin.
      LC = oiled lambskin
      I handled both of these when choosing my jacket....The LC on the intarsia and LV on the stooges.
      LC was just a really nice standard weight oiled lamb with a slightly antiquey feel/look to it
      LV felt very very thin, very dry to the touch, and a very matt black.

      I really didn't Like the LV, whereas the LC was exactly what I was after.

      Liberty has just got in new 2012 stock and they had a new batch of RO stooges again in LV. The summer iteration seems even lighter weight than the aw11 LV stooges which I saw a RO London due to a lighter weight lining.

        LV is indeed vegetable dyed lamb, and it's one of the cheaper RO leathers for good reason.

        And I'm pretty sure LC isn't oiled lamb. I think it's washed lamb or something, but as far as I know there is no oiled lamb. The only oiled leather should be calf which is LO.

          Makes sense....
          So:
          LC = washed lamb
          LV = vegetable dyed lamb

          The washed lamb is a lovely weight and texture, and the washing obviously gives it it's antiquey look/feel which I mentioned below.

          from seeing the prices of the new ss12 LV stooges, looks like pricing is moving up if that's their cheap leather.

            From what I saw in the FW leathers, the LV leather was the most expensive. $4000usd and up. That may have been due to the interior lining but I doubt it.

            I thought that Rick pricing for SS seemed to go down a bit.

            Edit: I'm talking about the baby calf pieces and we may have had a complete breakdown in leather codes and pricing..

              Yeah, the baby calf is the expensive one. Though after looking into this I am confused by the codes. I have now seen the baby calf listed with LV, and also the vegetable lamb listed as LC for some FW11 jackets. Maybe something has changed, but LV was definitely vegetable lamb in previous seasons.

              On another note, the baby calf feels like ass. And it doesn't even look like leather.

                If this is the leather I saw in-shop on the weekend, I agree. I couldn't believe it was actual leather until I looked at the price.

                  A lot of the retailers seem to just call everything vegetable lamb because it sounds a bit exotic......

                  the aw11 LV I handled at the RO store looked like very thin matt black paper. I thought it was a waxed cotton initially, but I did check the label and it read LV, lamb.
                  Same goes for the ss12 stooges I handled 2 days ago at liberty on regent street. The same thin matt black leather, and the same LV code on the label stating lamb

                  The LC aw11 intarsia is what most of us would consider a standard weight, smooth textured leather.

                  For some reason I didn't see a baby calf leather, but from the comments below, I'm not missing much.

                      Be very careful with wool

                      be especially careful with CHANGES in temperature, i.e. washing cold and drying warm, or vice versa. that is one of the primary reasons for shrinkage in wool as far as i know!

                        Anyone care for which umbrella they use?
                        After getting my dick soaked by copenhagens shit weather today and not owning a decent umbrella I want one, but I don't know where to look.
                        Looking for a good quality, oldschool umbrella.. probably with wooden handle and maybe some color on the inside.
                        Appreciate any input to this lame question. :p

                                Filson's cover cloth ones are quite nice. I myself have just used the same Marimekko one for the past several years.
