Thank you guys for all the info! Shucks, Loro Piana seems adequate. I'm looking for the softest fabric, design doesn't matter much - I'll be wearing this in winter for the after ski. Price is expensive but doesn't look overpriced. I have to check if I can find a second-hand though.
Lohi, if I were still living in Tokyo, thrift stores might be an option, boring Switzerland has done it again.Eternity is in love with the productions of time

I'm interested in this because I need to start wearing orthopedic insoles ().

Nomadic Planet: very helpful! I'll definitely stick an additional sole on them, and be sure to check sizing.

Anyone have experience altering Rick slim dress pants? I got some amazing light wool ones from IF and they ran REALLY slim in the leg so I sized up. Now they are perfect in the legs but a tad big in the waist.
Bringing in the waist a tad is a simple thing but I noticed there is no seam whatsoever along the waist band! Of course there is a seam down the seat but it does not continue up the waist band. Im guessing a tailor is going to have to add a seam then to bring it in... but now I think it's kind of cool there is no seam so maybe I should just leave it alone and wear a belt (they aren't THAT big). Anyone else notice/run into this?

I had one pair of pants with a continuous waist band altered, the tailor simply added a seam / continued the back seam into the waist band. There is a probably a minimum amount you have to take in though to be able to create a seam there, maybe 2cm slimmer?"AVANT GUARDE HIGHEST FASHION.
