It is in fact Phineas Gage's only known picture : you see him posing with the tamping iron that had perfored his left cheek, destroyed his eye and heavily damaged his frontal lobe some years before, causing his personality to change drasticaly, at least according to the doctor that was following his case.

I did know the history, but had never seen the man until today. He looks like a younger Achab here. This photograph is one of those which make people want to tell tales of a thousand pages.

belongs to photog BOB Richardson (Terry's father) this I believe is an excerpt from BIG#14 magazine from 1996 which was dedicated entirley to Bob and the issue was called Beyond Cool!
