Wait til you see Lift's buyer, Avantster. Although Dave has got that covered, I'm afraid!

Haha, D is the man. Actually, I did meet a beautiful lady at Lift (not a buyer), but that's another story..
let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.

you mean the long-haired lady with a reverence for CCP? Was always under the impression she owned the place, at least that's what I gathered from the correspondence.

anyway 'that' woman is the most stylish person I've ever seen in Japan in person.

Browsed the website a bit and found this:

I like how with severe shoes and hair she makes the very strongly-designed pieces absolutely sweet on her.
now look what I found after further research

harvested from the depths of tfs

merz, the first picture is a cropped scan of an Arena Homme+ retrospective of Helmut Lang 93 - 03.

second is Bless' Chairwear A, and the third is shaded view on fashion's photo from MMM's 20 exhibition at the MoMu - the hooded mac is from 2005 (i think)

Is that the one who has those CCP boots where the silver layer is flaking? Because those are awesome...

Strips of film from Stan Brakhage's Mothlight.

The film itself, in motion, is of incomparable beauty. You can watch it on YouTube but shitty resolution does nothing at all to justify it. More of a failure, really. A DVD collection is available from Criterion but absolutely nothing comes even remotely close to watching it projected from an actual print (8mm or 16mm). Projection from a print brings all the many tactile details into life - the film's sheer physicality and materiality, the complexity in colour and temperament, the density of delicateness and fragility, the commingling of light+film+objects(fragments of moths and flora)+sound (even if it's the sole background chattering from the projector), but more than anything else: it's the experience of watching something purely handmade in every tangible detailed bit of its material tactility... transformed into a piece of poetic and organic imagery.

might have been...i've only been to Lift 3 times or so....the last time I saw her she was wearing a CCP long coat, a white RO tee layered over a black one, ccp trousers and boots. the outfit itself is very basic but you can feel while talking to her that she's utterly at ease in her style and poise. her clothes didn't even register until she was telling me all this CCP stuff and i took a closer look. the shop's lighting doesn't help much, either.

Manami and her husband are the proprietors of Lift, both are super steezy
