Are we looking at the same thing?Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

well, they appointed a new designer at the helm
so lets see what he will bring to the table“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”

Balmain prices is a marketing stategy.
The question was: "how to come back from nowhere to the top of the market, when Balmain has been one of the most wellknown couture brand in the pas that everybody had then forgotten...
Strategy was quite simple:
- be as much expensive as possible
- be aggressive
- be the brand to dress showbizz stars
- be rare
...and it worked!
It's really amazing to know that Balmain Paris which was the only Balmain flagship in the world had only one item per size, most sold out in advance, on order...
Some of the curent season items (like the silver stretch jeans have been sold out almost everywhere in less than one week - O days in Paris, all hold and sold in advance before they arrive!)
Decarnin did the Brand alive, Balmain killed Decarnin... or almost (not totally yet!...)....that's the cruel world of fashion!
After Decarnin, the new AD is Olivier Rousteing who is no one less than Decarnin's ancient assistant for women ready to wear line ... so, absolutely no doubt, the strategy is keeping the same for future: be expensive, aggressive, showbizz and rare...
Then:
- kill the designer again before it becomes totally indispensable
- promote his assistant
- turn it on again and again until it doesn't work anymore and the brand to be forgotten again...
