Lowrey, um, I believe you mean senakers.
Edit - beaten to the joke by ShyeP. Gotsta be wearing senakers for quickness like that.

No doubt the guy who designed them sought permission to lift the lyrics, but luckily, we won't be seeing these coming out of Joy D's camp anytime soon. They were a one-of design entry for Sneakerpimps back in 2005, and never intended for production.

The guy's done other Joy Division footwear before which has gone retail (rly?), and chose Ian because it was the 25th anniversary of his passing (check out the custom lace locks) - which I find somewhat of a morbid homage; lyrics of a dead singer printed onto a sneaker he'd never wanna wear.. who knows.
But he clearly did it w/ good intentions as a life-long fan of the band, and that I can totally respect.

No senakers for me, just dusty foot bottom bankrupt greco mandals!

pretty sure those sneakers were not an official nike project, but simply a fancy 3rd party customisation project by a design agency.

I'm not that stupid... I was just pointing out that there's a funny similarity, and the tattoo is open to hilarious misinterpretation.

yup & nope. They were a Sneakerpimps /2005 design entry by a designer/fan, like my subsequent post clarifies.

christianef & DRRRK - I'm sure morsto's comment is just riffing off the irony of seeing certain band t-shirts being worn by those who didn't yet exist when the actual band did. Nothing wrong with it, but there is a facepalm somewhere in that whole realization, at least for me. I totally get where he's coming from.

◕ It's like.. when 20-somethings stick obscure or defunct bands, like PainTeens, for example, at the top of their stupid Facebook 'music likes' section to impress their friends and you're like "oh fuck you I listened to them at their shows.. way before your ass was rippin' their shit into your iPod.."

◕ Kinda that "Who-do-you-think-you-are" generational privilege, of sorts.
. .Same principle applies with clothes, too: "Bitch, plz.. you were in 7th grade
. .when I started wearing ____" (insert favorite niche designer) Heeee!
. .We're all guilty of it.

p.s. Apologies to all my 20-something friends! Lol, I still love you!
                          . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..

I am sure this makes sense somehow.
