Oh shit man Dr Octagon! I used to listen to MF Doom, Atmosphere, RJD2, Shadow, Kid Koala, Dan the Automator... love it. I recently rediscovered Lovage's album which is so badass.
it's easy to forget among all the philosophic posturing and item codes that a lot of shit we buy comes from places and practices like this. maybe not as much with the carol's and altieri's...

there is no real way of escaping this, as it is part of a system that runs the world that is bigger than us.
it didn't start today, and the powers that be, that has the means to put an end to these things are not interested in doing so.............we cannot know the origins of absolutely everything we buy.
that being said, we have to be conscientious shoppers, not just of clothes, but of food, appliances, and all different kind of stuff
we have to speak out against these things, and actively engage our friends and associates in educating them against these evils......
When i decided to set up ZFactorie, many of my friends thought I was committing business suicide, as they didn't believe it would have been possible to have our own factory, and make the stuff ourselves being such a small company. it has not been easy, but I go to bed at night, knowing that the stuff I make and sell is made by people who are treated with love and respect, and not just seen as a commodity to be used to profit myself.
however, I often ask myself about the fabrics, and trims that i buy to do the work.................how are they made?.............. under what conditions?
To be honest I really don't know the answer to that question sometimes, but I will continue to play my part in railing against this evil system...........
“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”

^^What zamb said. Just because the production of the clothings and fabrics SZ people wear is carried out in some Italian factory doesn't mean the cotton/leathers/other materials that is used is slave-labour free. We'll never have full supply chain transparency, at least not in the near future.
Yes, I did want to add that point about the rising number of ethical producers, but they are far and few compared to the mass market. I didn't say it will never be possible, it's just still not taking place on a massive scale at the moment. Let's face the fact, not everyone is as responsible as you are, rilu. It will take time for other people, consumers and designers, to get on the bandwagon and be more informed of their purchases.
Also the purpose of my post before this was to echo zamb's sentiment, which is to point out that we're not exactly guilt-free either just because we don't buy stuff from H&M. I never meant that we should be cynics and continue our destructive behaviour.
