WTF happened to my favorite designer?

Really? I'm not seeing much difference than from other seasons when I look across the whole line. But I think S/S always presents a challenge, especially to designers who are stronger at winter/fall garments, which she clearly has traditionally been in my eyes with coats, sweaters, outwear, cardigans, boots, wool, etc.

And boots aside, I've never thought her footwear was anything much to really discuss. I know the sandals were popular with the goth poets of summer but it's not my thing. She was trying to create a more masculine sandal and it came out kind of suspect. As for the orange shoe, they are all sold out except for one size, so that should say something. I'm guessing it's all still very much her usual customer. It's got buckles, straps, it's not black...can't wear combat boots every day of the year. Well, I can...but most people prefer not to.

But I think the overall palette with the creams/beiges/caramels/etc. comes across very much hers for a spring line. The materials look typical to me as well, as do the jacquard patterns and flowy, silky basics.

But I did get a good chuckle out of the napkin holder comment.

I think it's unfair to take a few pieces that are clearly the weakest and suggest that a designer has fallen, especially during S/S. I didn't see the runway presentation for this stuff but I'm pretty sure it was amazing, since she puts together some of the best presentations in the business.

I bet Paris will reveal some amazing things from Ann...as always, she's one of the few I really get excited about.
