That's considered 'collusion' by Ebay and they have a system in place to snag that from what I understand. One assumes if it's going on, then the same people are always bidding on the same seller's pieces.

I sold an ipod on Ebay one time for $50 over retail once. Wasn't a hard to find item, wasn't sold out. Not like an ipad 3 or anything. I just think Ebayers are kind of insane and get caught up in what they see as a competition.

Ebay markets it as 'I WON!' when we all know it's 'I BOUGHT!'

Even if someone is pushing up prices, I guess you have to consider that someone is still paying near retail prices in some cases and that's something I haven't really seen in a few years.

If I would have noticed the gimp going for so little, I would have picked it up just to have a standby. Both of those were new. I think the gimp was listed as 'worn once' but had all tags.

edit: Kunk, I would be able to understand a tough to find size going up to those levels but 43 seems like one of the most common ones if you look on classifieds and SUFU.

Yea, I recommend anyone who has items languishing in classifieds here bite the bullet and put it on ebay. Especially "trendy" brands that may not be so appreciated here can fetch a good deal more. My long dior scarf that had no takers here for $85 went for around $150.
