Interestingly, Rick has designed a version of the womens' biker jacket with similar cropped sleeves that reach the elbows. I'm not saying it's successful in the instance above, but I think I can envision someone pulling it off.

The things I can do with €18,000 and blowing it all on an espresso maker is not one of them.

Yeah...18000 euros for an espresso machine seems a bit crazy even for an enthusiast but many (most) would say something similar about fashion so maybe it's best to just leave it alone.

You could probably have an exact copy of that Espresso machine custom made for less than 1800.

not that it would make it any more logical of a purchase, but I believe the price comes from it being made entirely by hand and that has to be a couple of pounds of silver on top of that. I'm not perfectly familiar with this exact product, but I would assume its just like everything else W:M makes, meaning that everything from the small hinge (presumably from silver as well) to the large threads between the top and bottom parts are pure handwork, which is extremely laborious. So you can try finding someone who will make this, every part of it, like that ;)

But yea, I agree that the price is madness. Of course, this type of an item is not purchased because you need a new espresso maker but because you want a piece of art in your kitchen. What consitutes as "art" is a whole other discussion...

My point quite clearly being that 18,000 is lunacy, not that we should all hit the thai tailors and have them make bootlegs of €3000 garments. There's quite a difference.
