^Yeah, try wearing a new pair of MA+ leather pants which will color your your legs purple/black from the dye. I legs were calico one time with those. Rick shoes unfortunately turn your feet black and the white soles pink from any article containing the "black" colorway. Life could be work. Owning Rick shoes seems more important to most people on here I suppose.

actually i've only had dye problems with ONE SINGLE PAIR of rick footwear, out of +20 pairs i own and that was with the geobaskets where the soles were discolored (pink) and they came that way out of the box.
so please don't generalize like this - none of my toes have EVER turned blue or black with dye from wearing rick kicks so my experience is very very different from how you stereotype it. i've had other quality issues for sure (esp. around 2008-9 or so) but that was mostly to do with soles splitting.
ps i haven't worn white socks in black kicks more than perhaps once or twice. i don't see why anyone should, tbh.

Well, hard not to generalize when 75% of mine are that way. I own 4 pairs and 3 of them have the problem. Not that I really give a shit and I actually think it's kinda funny, but 75% is well......75%. (didn't really start happening until later seasons, but in fact, we are in 2015, so that applies to recent products)
So glad you've had luck and pink dye bleeding or not, the shoes are great, but just saying it's a common factor and dye bleeding from leather clothing is indeed common as well. I wear leather at least once a week and it's common to almost everything at one point or another. Obviously not a personal attack on you and your articles of clothing, but simply a part of wearing leather.
However, I think it's awesome that you speak of your shoes like pets or children. Clearly a proud owner and Rick would bless you.

Making white socks looks dirty because of the leather is expected, my IS derbies are the same.

Originally posted by fit magna caedesWow, they dropped him years ago, this must have been festering for a while. Wonder what happened there?
There are a lot of things that happen in this industry that are difficult to comprehend from the outside. Many of these things are matters known to designers and for the sake of not risking business, many people are afraid to talk about publicly.
Do I know what happened here? I have no clue...........
however what I do know is that there are stores, a lot of MAJOR ones, who place orders with designers and do not pay the deposit. The designer is then left to take the risk of producing the order and a lot of times the store then pays and collect the order. other times the store can just decide they do not want the order and so the designer is stuck with (tens of) thousands of dollars worth of products that were made because a store ordered it and then suddenly for whatever reason decide not to collect it.
I have known of instances where designers are no longer in business partly because of this very reason. Its a fine line to walk, and even to an extent a fine line to talk about it here too.......but since I don't give a damn these days I am one of the few who would dare even mention it.
Some stores even go ahead and pay the deposit and then after that decide not to go ahead with the order......same problem, but at least the loss is somewhat tempered by the initial deposit. It is mostly smaller/ independent companies that have his headache to deal with but such is the lot of the small man.
For me, I don't care who you are, nothing is produced without the deposit and nothing is shipped without the final payment.
All in all for me I hope to see better dialogue and efforts between both designers and stores in order to lessen these kind of issues, but I think the humility it often takes to make this happen is not often the forte of many in this kind of industry........“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”
