I guess there's nothing you can do about the width but definitely have her take some of the length off so the stacking doesn't creep up towards your undercarriage.
I think stacking can look alright as long as it's natural and towards the lower part. After they creep up above the knee too much, it looks a little bit costumey.
edit: I don't think you're excessively thin. A lot of designers discussed here, you have to be thin to get into even the larger sizes. If you hadn't mentioned it, it probably wouldn't have crossed my mind except for how those pants tend to accentuate your height, which in turn, accentuates your slim build.
