Faust: They're a sleek boot made by a company that does haute couture shoes (for Chanel and others), how much more venerable can you get?Last edited by Fuuma; 06-07-2012, 03:11 PM.Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

"Laced shoes will dominate the next century just as riding boots have done in this century. The English have already made a direct transition and wear both styles today. We, however, have created a hideous hybrid for this transitional period: the elastic-sided boot."

The longterm cleaning of black suede is nearly impossible (dust turns it into evil grayish), that is why I personally prefer brown suede.
It comes down to that EG will always be "classic" for me and that last doesn't fit the picture. For something fancier I would prefer Carmina or the MTO patina option of Septieme Largeur.

In fact balmoral boots are the most classic solution, only horrible to lace.

Edward Green is the gold standard for me. It is the degree of shaping around the foot that distinguishes them. The fit, translating to the visual appeal of the shape. Fuck, yeah. My first pair was a revelation.
Yes, the designs, colours and finishes are traditional.
I've since bought Augusta boots which are superb, and a pair of Carol spirals (makes me walk like a Furry Freak Brother) and I think I will be reverting to EG. I just cannot justify the price differential.spinning glue back into horses. . .
