    Maybe from 50 years ago

Elena's pieces are more feminine that are very different from Harnden's, which I like very much!

      Why? Maybe they're feeling vintage.

Super comfortable and warm. My only wish was that they were half-lined.

No i have not. I made my judgement based on the pictures provided, which may be a little hasty. I just personally hate shiny things with vintage clothes, to me it's not comprehensive and incongruent, no offense intended.

noirgt, sorry, you're not really convincing. Do you care to elaborate a bit more on this?

Way too casual and too much color for waywt.

                    new:
                    Ann D. cotton / rayon watteau-pleated & laced-back top
                    Guidi boots

                    old:
                    cheap Chinese silk scarf
2003 Jean Shop all-cotton raw selvedge

I love how seamlessly these two pieces fit into my wardrobe and life. Already, I don't feel like I could do without them.

Any thoughts on whether or not to get the top tailored? Shoulders may be a bit wide?

Nah, unless you plan on wearing it under a blazer. When it's casual you're going for, you've more leeway with loose. It's kind of like wearing your boyfriend's button-down shirt. It shouldn't be perfect.

lionlimb! I'll match your silk scarf with my vintage japanese pocket square

also just snagged a vintage comme des garçons blazer, wool, side vents, covered buttons, bliss

                            re:house -- Thanks!
It's a two-room cabin that my grandfather built in the thirties with materials from an army barracks (abandoned after WWI) that he bought. The foundation and support beams had begun to rot, so had I not started construction when I did, it probably would have fallen in within the year. It's been a several-year remodel, but it's finally stable and insulated with as much original material retained as possible, and it's great to finally be living there. There is no storage, so it enforces minimalism.

re: shoulders -- Seriously, thank you. I don't wear blazers, and I'd like to leave it as original (+with as much fabric) as possible so I can wear it when I'm old and fat. You've reassured me. p.s. I really like all of your contributions to the material-driven threads in the womens forum.

Can't wait for cold weather to bring about a fit pic in that blazer.

lionlimb's recycled WWI military barracks for a house vs. LUC recycled military tent for clothing....lionlimb wins! Your place looks like a beautiful and cosy home. The Ann D ain't too shabby either.
