thanks for the story TD, really cool
I'm probably going to continue to go to them for some spring summer staples, they do a strange interpretation of a double rider that they did about three years ago, but they said they would recreate any of their previous styles.
Even though their main staples are these leather wallets and clutches made out of a single leather cut where they then fold it like origami, they use these japanese constructions to put it all together only using one nut and bolt, it's quite amazing to hold in person.
It's quite an interesting concept from a heratige perspective, But Let me not derail the thread.
Just for some fun,
I also Recently purchased a Daniel Andresen Knit Hat from Lift in Daikanyama, Daniel did a special collaboration with lift where he knit 20 hats.
From the Lift site:
"Daniel Andresen's hat is exclusively produced in a total of 20 pieces. The knitted hat is designer's masterwork and his iconic item. Each hat is connected by a linking thread, with a color gradient going from a natural to a dark tone. The hat is produced for the installation "CONNECT", and the linking thread will be used for a future collection. The 20 hats represent the time of the past, and by having the hat, you too will share in a part of that steps. The hat is available to purchase by following a rule of chain (gradient)."
They also had an installation that you can view here: http://vimeo.com/32718608
So this particular piece was extremely enticing for me because there is something incredibly unique of being a part of 20 people who are all connected by a single white thread. This kind of special bond that I share with these random strangers might seem somewhat unimportant but it's one of life's little interesting things.
I was actually there to size for guidi but it seems the biggest size they sell doesn't fit me. I guess it can't be helped.Last edited by TriggerDiscipline; 11-14-2013, 10:12 AM.Originally posted by unwashedTry to use a phone camera in broad daylight or use a proper camera.Originally posted by AhimsaI've found it extremely pleasant and enthralling over repeated whiffs so I would highly recommend.

TD, please resize your photos so they don't mess up the rest of the the page visually.
I am very happy you purchased something from Daniel Andresen. (I have the same hat!) He is an interesting designer and a wonderful person with his heart in the right place. leather blazers can be cool if they are done right, we did one several seasons ago in a blistered lamb that was really nice, we keep getting request for it but there is no more of the leather........
you like what you like and others like what they like so we are all happy
on another note I like the way No no Yes does business, I think on the subject of sustainability, inviting clients to share in some aspects of the design process and tweaking certain things to the personal taste, needs of the wearer is always a good thing.
Custom / Special orders are an ever increasing part of Zfactorie's operations and i cannot tell you how much that has help to keep us alive............but i will say more in the state of fashion thread as this is about recent purchases“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”
