Thanks, I got lucky this time. I been looking for any side laced models for about a year and a half but none came up, and not many m.a+ seems to be in my size. Still drooling over the white derbies that were for sale on here but just couldn't reach it. That said it's so good to have some shoes that fit better (it's ever slightly large though for 42), used to have yyph 2 sizes too big. Should I vibram?

It's not just that un-vibramed wears faster (those cross heels wear like anything), but it's also slippery in the wet on any surface that's too flat (eg polished concrete, paving).

I can relate to both, almost broke my coccyx last winter running for my train. I do miss the cross heel but the new rubber one is really safer...

Is this a common practice of cobblers? I googled it and couldn't find anything. I have a pair of avantindietro derbies coming my way and have been worried about the slipperiness of the ground out her in the PNW.

Topy and Vibram are both brands and make various type of rubber soles. Just go to a cobbler, ask what they have or suuggest and have your pick.

How do these feel, quality-wise? Those are beautiful and I've always been curious about The Last Conspiracy's footwear for the combination of look and price.

How do these feel, quality-wise? Those are beautiful and I've always been curious about The Last Conspiracy's footwear for the combination of look and price.

I found out about them about a year ago and has since then bought 4 pairs (boots and sneakers). I've been very impressed with the quality, especially when you consider the price. They work only horse leather (at least I think so) and very solid throughout (Lampo zippers, Goodyear welting, hand stitched through the soles). It seems like most retailers buy from their considerably more mainstream selection though so the best ones are not super easy to find. They have a capsule collection called Asgard and I've bought all but one pair from Orimono in Berlin (I live here).

Will take a photo of a pair I own from the AW collection and post here. It's a pair of culatta laced higher boots and they've broken in really nicely.

The Last Conspiracy is a highly underrated brand. Quality of construction, materials and treatments are top notch. They make everything in one factory in Portugal, a country unfairly knocked, as they have as old and good artisans as anywhere else.

Are these soles whiter than the creme-isn ones on black Geos?
They look great with black laces btw, works well with the black trimming on the tongues.
