    Re: Recent Purchases

Faust- Yea they are. I agree too, they are just gorgeous buttons. Well I guess compared to most of the other Lanvin trousers, these were a bargain! lol

I have to say though, I'm in love with this seasons' collection. So much good stuff, it's just too bad 80% of the line is over $1,000. :(

Orochi, how's Balenciaga these days in terms of fit and quality?

        [/quote]

In terms of fit, they seem to have gotten it fixed since a year or so ago. I'm strictly a small/44/46,butwith their first capsule collectionI could barely squeeze into asize mediumsweater. It was bought dirt cheap on eBay so it's not that big of a deal, but wearing it is like slowly strangling myself to death. I've bought two moretops in small since then, and they're a lot more reasonably sized.

They're generally quite well made, but obviously Ghesquiere is more concerned about shapely silhouettes than comfort with his design approach - even when something has proper fit, it'd still feel constricting and just plain uncomfortable to wear, especially if you plan on moving at all while wearing it. There's no denying his clothes look great, you just don't feel all that great wearing them.

I like his stuff, there's just no way in hell I'd pay retail on them. Thank god for Yahoo Japan.

I never understood why menswear for Balenciaga is such an afterthought. I think they could've easily raised it's image the way Lanvin has. Bad management, if you ask me.

Hehe, thanks Philip! I'm really psyched for the suit. I really am.

As for the belt, it's a mere 295 euro on Lazzari. After the discount from VAT but adding on shipping/customs you'll probably spend just a tad over 295 euro ($420-ish) on it. Joey can confirm... this is just my off-the-top estimate using my math-addled asian brain (bad joke there.... I'm actually really terrible at math and thus a bad bad asian.)

I got the Atelier suit :)

Probably one of the most versatile items I've recently purchased!

                      Joey,

Looks like you pulled down some sweet Poell pieces! I know you weren't a big fan of the gloves initially, but I think you'll really come to love them.

                      Albert,

Congratulations on picking up that suit. Can't wait to see pics! Do you know if they had a 48? Hopefully you reply to this before I head over to Maxfields and drop crazy duckets. Seriously happy for you though brother! A phat suit to wear on your upcoming "surprise" trek.

yeah, the gloves will hopefully work out. ;)

i think people have mentioned that sizes 46 and 48 were the first to be sold out. crazy that A can sell a $3,200 suit so easily.

Did you get and like the larger dick?

I heard that! I've been contemplating the purchase of that suit for some time now. Still on the fence due to the price.
