The boots are lovely. They do, however, remind me why I don't like metal toe taps and why I'd rather resole the toes of my shoes than add taps. I think they disrupt the aesthetic and add an awkward detail to an excellent pair of shoes.

Thanks merz and sombre. I was a little worried about the taps but they're really much less obtrusive when worn. I was going to ask a question about changing soles but I'll take it to the men's footwear thread.

I almost bought those boots off Jason, good purchase.

I actually like the taps on there. The only thing I notice is, do they match in color with the zipper? If not, I'd think that awkward.
