I was just having a little go at you. The description was just a bit morose, and I couldn't pass up commenting on it. I also thought you were mocking Magician. An artist is not paid for his labor, but for his vision. - James Whistler

i wasn't mocking him as i find the boots horrid. flesh colored boots and flesh covered boots are indeed a different animal. sometimes we forget that ccp comes from a raw place, and there is much to his mere ugly. so i was extending his comment. One wonders where it will end, when everything has become gay.

I see. Well, his work certainly doesn't lack depth. Based on your earlier comment we can call them leper boots. An artist is not paid for his labor, but for his vision. - James Whistler

I echo pnods sentiments here. There is something inherently disturbing and disgusting in these.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

BUT conceptually the most beautiful shoes i probably ever will owe. Just the fact that he chose to cover a beautifully handcrafted pair of shoes in "ugly" tape. Underneath there is a untreated beige "matte" leather.
Apparently the tape is supposed to fall off, been wearing the about 15 times and guessing the process is going to be slow. And yes they do not really make any justice on these photos.
I will post my first WAYWT soon.

the tape will stay on the boots unless you forcefully peel them off
i actually mistaken them for the 'paper' boots
that is why i freaked out initially
doh
personally i hated the collection where he'd put non-black tape on garments and footwear
just plain ugly

thanks, guys. it fits me like a glove, i could not be more pleased.
Faust, the flowers were actually my first choice. But, on a person of my stature, an all over print of that size is a bit much. I am hoping to get a blouse in that fabric though....I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.
