Stranger's Reactions to your Clothes?

i dont usually react much to random comments on the streets, but ive recently experienced a new one.

i was walking round in a very long yohji wool gab jacket and a loose fit pair of black pants, probably a damir.
while waiting for the lights, 2 muslims drove past me, noticed me and raised their hand, smiled, and bowed deeply.

i dont know if they thought i was some important muslim or if they just did it for fun,
but all i could do was just slightly nod back ...
anybody experience something like this before?

I was strolling through the forest, I don't know which one, to me they all look the same, when an old man, older than myself, approached me. He was wearing stiped and checkered rags, perhaps from the Salvation Army, and was leaning on a kane made from birch wood. Got a few very confused but still polite looks and then nods from a couple of muslims walking past me while I was wearing my long-paneled Rick DRKSHDW vest with a jacket over couple of weeks ago. That whole imam-feel on a (very pale) white guy attracts some attention from people in general, I've experienced.

I've been getting 'medieval' a lot from college. Also appear to have taken on 'Swagpants', 'Bilbo Swaggins' and all variations of 'swag' nicknames.

An office girl took a good look at me near Holborn before shaking her head disappointingly then shivered violently for a good 30 seconds. I am hoping the two movements were not related.
