I don't think those are the same cropped VA pants. I believe the ones on Y! are from one season earlier (SS). I have those in a size 3 that fit 33" in the waist if that will help any.
Main difference (between the 2 here) would probably be raw hem and shorter inseam on the earlier version as opposed to a finished hem and longer inseam and (likely a heavier wool) on the AW version.

For a 52, you're generally always safe with Ann size Large. It's a tricky one obviously because as a 48/50, I've actually had XS - L that all fit me how I'd like them to.
But even if you're buying online, most shops worth ordering from will give you a chest and shoulder measurement before you buy.
Unless there's a drastic change though, L should work well.
Other people may have a different opinion but to be safe, always check measurements with someone from the shop if possible.
