Are you speaking of a 38 (U.S.) suit sizing for pants or 38 inches?
A 48 EU would be (approximately, depending on the cut) a 32" waist. In CCP, more likely a 30-31" waist.

If you're a waist size 32, I'd go with a 50 in CCP but you should ask for measurements probably before you pull the trigger. Better to tailor them down a bit if you need to than end up with a pair too small.

There are other considerations like the length of the rise and width of the thighs to take into account other than the waist in some of the cuts.

so are you saying that although luc runs small, a 50 initially being more like a M, that eventually it will stretch out true to size? (Specifically speaking about typical luc cotton knit tops).

I am a 48 normally, and wondering if i were to get a LUC 48, if it would start out tight but eventually fit true to size?

He was talking about the raw silk cardigan..

The knit tops don't stretch out much, they keep there shape.. I am a 48/slim-50 and buy my wool (wool blends) knits from LUC in a size 50, they fit a bit smaller. Cotton knits are more true to size..

You should always ask before buying..

cosign with the above, the silk cardigan has more stretch than the crew necks. both wool and cotton ones seem to retail their shape and don't really stretch out much from my experience. cashmere is maybe just a bit more stretchy.

My RO oiled intarsia size S just arrived, and I have a quick question concerning the fit. Every measurement seems to be spot on, shoulders, length. However, it fits rather tight around my chest (it measures 48cm, but I reckon 50cm would be ideal for me). Will the leather stretch enough, or should I just return it and size up?

^ haha, funny question... Got exactly the same regarding my just arrived julius. Fits spot on IMO but feels uncomfortable tight around chest & shoulders (goddamn swimming) - will it stretch out?

any leather will stretch. ro is usually tight around the chest anyways so just let it stretch out. 2cm is not much anyways. the leather will stretch much more than that.

thanks guys for the info. i have a LUC wool top myself in a 50 and find it fits closer to a 48. I was just wondering if the cotton knits fit or stretch out any differently. so calf, i think we might be similar sizes. so if you were to get a luc cotton would u go for a 48 or 50?

                      ^

If you want it to fit more like a wool knit top, i would go with a 48. If you want it to fit a bit looser go with a 50. Also ask the store you're buying from how the fit of that particular shirt is..

MoFiya : the _7 jacket is short at the sleeves. I'd say too short.

As with a lot of Japanese brands which are often cut with little consideration towards bigger thighs/hips, it really depends on the pant and your own body type. For me, I can fit a size 1 across the board, but a lot of people have to size up in some of the cuts due to the low rise and cut through the thighs.

and MoFiya -- the fact that you are wearing a hoodie underneath it is obviously going to be a major reason for it fitting tight. Either way, though, leather stretches.

Yeah, I knew that when trying on... I dont want a leather being so tight that only a tee fits underneath.
I am just going to let it stretch out.
And regarding the arm length, I feel they are alright. For a moto collar I don't mind them being a dash shorter, and it isn't that short IMO. The model on the ad campaign had it a lot shorter, and I guess it is going to look nice with a a longsleeve or sth peaking out..

If I take a 44 / 44.5 in converse, what size Ann D sneakers would suit?
