Nah, pnod, the cords don't bother me, although I never adjust them to make it blouson more. You could always loop and tie them either together or in on themselves to make them shorter, or even cut them if you're so inclined. Perhaps it makes more sense on jacket than on an overcoat.

And yeah, I thought I'd post the pic since all this discussion of it made me pull it out and wear it today when I went to meet up with Casius. The hood came in handy today, but if you want to convert it, I love the fact that you can unzip the hood then zip the collar into itself so it's a standing collar. In other words, Buy this thing if you can find it!

I am not 100% positive, but someone told me there was a wool one.I think designersheep had it, where's that guy again? my only concern is blk cotton jackets will fade...and i personally dont like faded black color at all.. The leather one isquite nice. good luck with it!

and for that much (~$550) i'd rather pick up sam's elbow strap blazer. i wouldn't have to deal with the proxies and international shipping.

please don't tempt me to BIN. you're going to make me violate one of my new year's resolutions on the first day: no more jackets unless they're a stellar deal. :(

I own the Vest version in leather, no size tag not sure if it was a sample or runway piece or not, but the thing is incredible. I choose the vest over the jacket after trying on both, I love the look of the dress shirt underneath with a scarf. bakla is right about the collar, it makes the vest stand out, I've never worn anything like it. Highly recommend as others have.

I have had a chance to handle all three: wool, cotton & leather. I am with merz on the cotton over wool, just more functional and looks sharper. Leather > Cotton > Wool

I will get some pics up of the vest being worn but this should suffice...

obviously someone reading the recent purchases thread...flurcking lurker...but you cant really blame them w that BIN, the seller was giving it away for p nuts. and sharp service has a billion clients now i'm sure, the feedback on superfuture is insane.

i'm sure the leather is gonna go for way too much because of the massive attention on the cloak f/w 04...but i'm ready to go into battle.
