BTW, is anyone interested in this Rick Owens jacket? I can get it for the same price in size Small. The light parts are leather actually, one hiding a chest pocket.

I believe right around $2000 USD. This particular bag comes out to around $1700 inc proxy fees.

i've always wondered what the deal was with MA+ bags. sure, they are quite nice, but $2k for that? it certainly looks easy to make unless i'm missing something. is it the leather they use that demands such a high price?

The leather is really quite something and the sheer size of flawless hide needed to make one bag is much larger than you'd think. It's pretty much one hide per bag. The hardware is all hand-wrought silver and then the whole thing needs to be formed and baked so that it'll retain that accordion shape.

Not to mention that not many are made at all.

All that being said though, Amadei sure isn't starving! As much as I love these bags, I wouldn't drop full retail $$ on them. I made myself a triple layered sealed canvas version of the accordion bag which I carry just about every day. Labor aside, total cost was something like $50 including the metal I used to create the hardware.
