    Re: Good finds

aw damnit,if there was any way to call dibs on this i would do it right now.werethere ever any japanese proxy buyers on SZ or do i just have to go use "parachutes" on SF?

also, can anyone confirm estimates on the sizing of this jacket. the seller only states "With arrival height approximately 66 body width chest 42" and no way can i believe the chest measurement is 42cm on this thing

          Re: Good finds

There is a fair bit of Margiela, Victor & Rolf, Lanvin, and Chalayan at Century 21 NYC downtown. These are marked as new arrivals and there were a range of sizes and types of garments - lots of winter coats (MM wool pea w/ detach fur collar, Lanvin wool puffy coat?), some leather jackets (brown kangaroo V&R bomber, MM black leather blazer), pants, etc. My find of the day was $20 of socks at Uniqlo.

Looking into Lanvin, I dug up an image of one of the V&R jackets ($750), there was a longer belted one for $950 that I think is on yoox right now.

            I was therte on thursday......

the sale sucks, everything they have on sale is a bunch of crap, and some of the items they have listed as new arrivals are not new, e.g. the Chalayan pieces they have have been there for months, I was eyeing a few of them but decided to wait on the sale, when i went thier i saw them listed as new items, which is not true......... I instead bought some things i really needed(?) a whole ton of Bow ties for formal/church occassions, i felt vbetter buying these than things i dont really need.

Also, i was out of town for the weekend, went thrift shopping at a store close to my Moms house in Maryland, I found this amazing DIOR shirt made of swiss cotton for the ridiculous price of $2.45, it was brand new! , I have a feeling it was pre-Hedi though, as the collar seem a bit bigger than the ones hedi always cut...........which i will fix as i dont really like large collars, I will post a pic, tomorrow

Whoever buys a Chalayan double shirt in 46 before it goes on sale will have to deal with Faust [6]

BTW, a note on LANVIN to all; Lanvin, just like Dior, YSL, Pierre Cardin, etc. was heavily diluted by licensing agreements in the day - therefore, buy with caution. The stuff at Century is NOT the Lanvin you see on the runway. It is still very well made stuff, just not designed by Ossydrier, or whatever his name.

ha, was just about to ask about that here... i was excited to see that there were a few lanvin boutiques in hong kong, but was severely underwhelmed by what they had to offer (mostly plain shirts, pants, boxy looking suits, etc)... not to mention, surprised by the much low(er) pricepoints. same goes for balenciaga, daks, and burberry then, i assume...
