Re: yy umbrella or similar
I saw an umbrella in the yohji yamamoto store (grand st.) ~6 months ago, didn't buy it in the interest of not dropping bank on an umbrella, and have regretted it ever since. It was a fairly standard black umbrella, but with a beautifu, knot and nub filled wooden handle. Like yy x nakashima.
I doubt the particular yy umbrella can still be found anymore, but if anyone can recommend any alternatives I'd be grateful.

Did you see the Umbrellas thread in the Other Design section of the forum? You know SZ's got you covered.

Re: yy umbrella or similar
yeah, I saw the umbrellas thread, but the traditional english style is not what I'm going for. swaine adeney briggs et. al. make incredible pieces, but too polished for my tastes. it was the raw, artisinal quality of the yohji that stole my heart. if umbrellas were shoes, then the briggsbrella would be an edward green derby, while I'd be looking for the ccp. surely yohji couldn't be the first person to do this kind of thing.

Paul Harnden has made umbrellas, was one on Yoox, sold out.
This VB umbrella looks alright but is probably not what you're after and nowhere near as good quality (faux wood).
I've also been looking for a particular Yohji umbrella that I once saw listed on ebay and passed on a long time ago. No one bought it, and it wasn't relisted.
