i'm looking for a very light-weight waterproof jacket.
it doesn't have to be gor-tex®, but if it is, it needs to be paclite® material. 8oz-12oz
i prefer non-stupid colors. i don't need to be visible when buried in an avalanche. also, no stupid logos all over the garment..
i feel like i'm stuck with whatever the sporting goods store has..

Have you tried Arcteryx Veilance line? http://veilance.arcteryx.com/Product.aspx?EN
Pricey but they have all the technical features while keeping a clean design.

i was looking for the sold out marmot super mica or an arcteryx equivalent, but they all look and fit like crap.

agree/\. arcteryx makes some really nice jackets. If you are looking for sth that are not too common, take a look at their beams collabs.
acronym also makes some interesting pieces, though quality is not as good (if you don't plan to go hiking with it a lot, thats not a problem).Last edited by random; 09-15-2010, 04:34 PM.I don't exist.

Westcomb makes a super light weight shell using eVent which tends to preform better than gore products for breathability. It doesn't fit like a rick jacket but it certainly isn't a box either, you will have to deal with a small logo though.
I don't think a light weight water proof shell with clean styling and no branding exists. I've been looking for years.
If you weren't looking for something so light weight in addition to ACR and Veilance I would suggest you check out Attachment FW10 as they put out a few good looking technical shells as well Undercover has done the same in recent seasons (FW09- SS10)
Kinda surprised to see you call those brands overpriced though. Especially around here. Sure its an expensive product but the work that goes into them rivals some of the more typical SZ-style brands.
(really stoked to see people talking about technical fabrics and the like here by the way. I could talk about this stuff all day)
