Read the whole Paul Harnden thread, nice to see gramophones and 78s in conjunction with the "pre-pan-industrial" aesthetic. I'm generally not interested personally in pre-distressed design, especially of the peasant variety. Living in a small town it does remind me of some of the hobos and wouldn't want to be mistaken for one.
There's a local hobo who wears IS-ish off-white drapey clothes who I often see walking around town with a 6' walking stick he probably foraged out of the forest. I've never looked closely at his aesthetic details, for obvious reasons, but maybe I'll take a pic one day and see if SZ considers him fashion worthy.
Not a cloak, more like an off-white version of this:
Even before I got into fashion I thought he was the best dressed authentic hobo I've ever seen. Tall too with seemingly well-kept long dark hair and beard probably no older than 35.
Does any one else find after some walking around and sitting down/standing up etc that long tee shirts tend to bunch up and sit too high up on the body? The only tees I have that don't do this are a RIck tee (only because it is almost knee length) and an old Julius tee (it is very thick cotton/linen so it's heavy enough to not drift upwards).
I have pretty wide hips so perhaps that is the problem.
I always look forward to reading the comments on Hypebeast articles.
Saw this comment on an article about Karl Lagerfeld this morning:
"just googled that fuccboi and holy shit, i knew he was like old, but nigga was born in 1933 (80 YEARS OLD!!!)
my grandma died 1 year shy of this age a couple of years while lying in hospital bed for months - meanwhile this legendary illuminati troll is out clubbing in Cannes and shit at the age of fucking 80. credits where credits (age) is due tho"
I always wonder why SLP jeans are made in sizes 34 or even 36. To me, Slimane aesthetic message should stop the waist sizing on 32 at best, considering they run 1 size large, even 30. I wonder who buys them... but from different point of view it's just a pair of jeans.
