Also designers do not force the narrative on the population to make them buy trends, that is the place of the stores. This can be seen by the photographers that make a profit off of the images of the collection releasing them, as opposed to the designers publishing images of their work. While this does become murky when designers or brands publish advertisements and sell their own clothes to the public I feel like these brands are not solely artists but also capitalists. While this does not necessitate lesser artistic output it seems hard to be both a good capitalist and a good artist, partially due to the need to alter/compromise your vision to suit the marketplace.
