How often do you SZers buy multiple of the same piece/similar piece? Maybe I feel like I don't branch out enough but it always seems like when I find something I really like I try to get another pair/something similar because I already like the first one so much.

If it's something I plan on incorporating in to my uniform, and if I can afford it, I buy multiple. Sometimes, I'll buy different fabric compositions but the item will be the same (e.g. I own two pairs of cotton pods, a pair of silk/cotton pods, a pair of nylon pods, a pair of polyester Savage pods, a pair of nylon Savage pods). Shoes - I have to REALLY love them and have doubt the iteration I like will be produced again.

way to often, hence the attempts at wardrobe consolidation..

I'll buy multiple copies of a garment in different colors sometimes but oddly the only items I ever double up on are shoes / boots and basics.
