If it's any consolation I was watching the same ones. Slept on it. Woke up and decided to pull the trigger... Gone with the digital wind.

So the new rick plinth hiker boots just came up on ln-cc today. Amazingly most sizes are already out of stock.
Has rick really hit critical mass now? Will we be seeing a LVMH acquisition soon? It seems that rick really knows how to run a business in addition to designing clothes.

Is there any truth behind 'but you can DIY'? For example, showed my gf the paint splattered MMM sneakers (ignoring the current absence of the man himself) and she commented 'but you can DIY.' Same thing happened when I showed a friend a nautical knot bracelet, but she commented that SHE could make it for me. I believe this is related to the discussion regarding the 'uber distressed' A1923 sneakers from a while ago. Is one justified in buying a piece if you could 'do it yourself', whether it be splattering paint or distressing a shoe?
Could this be equated to criticism that arose around Jackson Pollock - as in, it sure looks abstract enough to lead you to believe you could do it yourself, but, if true, does that inherently make the value of the piece of art worthless? Although I think his art and throwing some paint on a shoe are far apart in terms of artistry...street goth extraordinaire
