probably around the same time they starting cutting jeans with lower rises to sit on the hips, rather than the waist. i guess they're still intended for someone with a 28 waist but are obviously cut bigger due to where they sit. but then again, menswear hasn't been unaffected by 'vanity sizing'. i find it kinda ridiculous that, given the fact i'm 6ft, i wear a 44/XS in most brands. no idea what shorter guys with similar proportions to me are wearing.

Yeah, I'm constantly astounded that I wear a 46/44. It's not like I'm crazy skinny or small - I'm 5' 11'' and 140 lbs. I see people walking down the street who are tiny compared to me. What do they wear? Children's clothing?

I'm not sure what's so weird about that..? Sounds like a 46 to me, I'm like 45lbs heavier and I'm a size 50

It's just weird because I'm not 'small', and certainly not 'extra small', at least compared to other people. I have plenty of friends that are smaller then me.
