I love those big Cloak knits and wish I had bought more of them when they were practically giving them away at the closing sale. Not a good weekend to wear one though, it was a perfect temperature in NYC for the last few days!

I really think this look suffers because of the cut of the pants in relation to both the cardigan and the boots. does the look a massive disservice. needs something looser.

Is your hair a memento from wall street days?

skinny jeans tucked into combat boots

toggle cardigan makes you look bigger than what ou are

Id like to see you wear yohji. looks like it would suit your frame better.

couldn't have been further from the truth. right about the cardigan, it's so thick it'd make anyone look bigger than they are.

I really have to disagree with the tight pants tucked into boots squad. It works here and elsewhere I see other disagree. Massive top+tight pants+ boots is nothing to be afraid of.

in general the combo you describe is not bad, just in this case i think the way the boots flare out to accommodate the pants would suit a looser pair better, or a less chunky boot.

Yea, I don't get the skinny pants tucked into boots hate. What do you want, full pants tucked into boots? That looks terrible IMO with the pants bulging out of the boots.

Outfit looks good Faust, those pants look great.

it's a bit of an optical illusion. the boots don't flare out, it's the flaps (which i can close with snaps, but choose not to) that make it look that way. thanks, everyone, for all the input.

i dont see anything wrong with skinny trousers in boots/hitops either. i guess it depends on the outfit and build of the person also.
                        im likin the outfit

although I don't have anything against skinny pants tucked into boots, that's a cruel example of big pants tucked into boots. it can look good imo, especially dropcrotch ones. but mostly I consider big pants looking at best when they're simply cut at a certain length untucked.

Hey, what about the Yohji jacket you had with the asymmetrical closure and extra large breast pocket, I thought that fit you well. Don't tell me you sold it!

There is nothing wrong with pants/trousers tucked into boots, but it has to be done correctly. This is why the Ann Demeulemeester slim sweat that A just sold out of is great, because the ribbed bottom cuffs around your ankle inside the boot. None of this cramming shit like with most jeans. The Damir drop crotch on Forward is the same kind of thing. I went with Ann D because the drop crotch wasn't quite as low.

Exactly. In fact the silhouette is my favorite thing about the outfit; it's dramatic. I'm used to seeing Faust in wider pants and more streamlined jackets so this is refreshing and makes him look younger.
