Same. Still remember a 5thD meetup pic where seenmy was slumming it out in a Supreme box hoodie, shorts and Vans. Looked good then, looks good now.

I think the 'waiter' comment was just because with the low contrast, the drop crotch looks like an apron in a way.

Faust, I'm not criticizing the approach - only the result. I'm not questionning the designer's authenticity either. Artists, whatever the field, more than often believe in what they do. But you can understand the gesture, its meaning, even its necessity as a medium for self-expression, you can even share the doubts, fears, enthusiasms that it's made to convey - and still be dissatisfied with the result. It's a matter of personal taste of course. You don't have to get a liking for everything you understand. I love Ann's reminiscences of adolescence. I don't like Horikawa's.

Mail-Moth, what's good for the wearer is doubly good for a designer! Nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from your teenager years! The thing is Horikawa WAS that teenager, just like Ann was that teenager, etc. He is not Gucci saying, "Ok, what else can we latch onto and exploit." And he certainly does not wish that the world would collapse, lol. He is just acknowledging the weight of the world, its imperfection, it's menace. etc. Now you can say it's all bullshit, but I'd rather not be this cynical.

Or I guess it's an american think. In europe people are perfectly fine most places wearing a black suit, but don't know how many times americans say people look like limousine drivers if wearing one.

i'm not american, nor do i have problems with people wearing suits. maybe if they were wearing a chauffeur's cap.

Black suits: traditionally speaking it is not acceptable outside of funerals, the idea being that black/white is reserved for black tie. In modern times this has pretty much been shattered by the 80s and sorta creative types (say ad people) wearing black suits cause it is "edgy". I'd say wear in good health and no one will care unless you're dealing with the English aristocracy or someone else living in the past because of their present-day irrelevance.

In asian black suits are the basic dressy work outfit but I have no idea why.
