I think the pieces of leather are actually one of the best things about the outfit. :-)

I think this belt should be worn under another garment, with only the buckles peaking out. The long strip of leather looks distracting.

Agree with Duncan, Tyro, it would certainly look better with wider pants. And, if I may, different footwear too. For the moment it's like the whole doesn't form an outfit : the lower part is too generic, as if it were here just because you had to put something on. With such a piece, it would be good to play with volumes. And colors too, maybe. This jacket deserves it !

Colors on the first pic are far more accurate than on the second one.

What I was telling to Tyro is also true in my case : this coat has to be combined with wider pants to really appear as part of an outfit, rather than as accesorized piece, like on this pic.
