If Merz had his way dressing would be some sort of monkish endeavour devoid of any social or provocative aspect.

MM: burst of colour with loose silhouette is wonderful.
The idea that today dressing a certain way somehow still has the power to provoke is laughable.

it's the remote cousin that never comes to the family meetings

um...come to texas and you'll see if you have the power to provoke anything.

i have to disagree with this, unless you have a narrow definition of dressing a certain way. of course, being in nyc also affords some leeway in this regard

I am talking about something much bigger - about the main current of thought that runs through contemporary society - individuality is the accepted dogma of today. No one gives a shit what a bunch of rednecks in flyover states think, despite what you might hear on Fox. This is not the 50s.

Since they have weappons, I'd advise to take care of what they think...

faust - easy tiger just playing around.

texas is hardly a flyover state though. we have more electoral votes than new york. 3 of the top ten most populous cities in the us are in texas.

i make jokes about the redneck aspect of texas, and it is real, but its not that bad. texans are very friendly and grounded and i'm very happy here. so don't be hatin' yo

but yes, we do have guns. and wedges are absolutely 100% an invitation to a beat down. and the cops are likely to be supplying the beer

Maybe in the northeastern USA, and major cities around the world. But in many places, being (too) different is still heavily stigmatized, and will elicit angry, mob-like reactions.
