OK Johnny, I wouldn't do that. But we're not in the streets, we're on a fashion forum, discussing fashion, and it seems quite natural to react, even harshly, to what we see here. Once again, to me those are pictures, those are garments, not people. So yes, you can consider my comments as insulting toward an image an what it represents - fashion-wise - in a place bound to see tastes and distastes on that matter expressed on a daily basis. That's all.

So, my apologies to anyone I accidentally insulted today, when I was genuinely thinking I was talking about clothing.

I think that is all a question of good taste and clearly that line was (at least from my opinion) crossed in the previous discussion.

There's nothing wrong with agreeing/disagreeing on taste levels, but I find that on SZ (judging from my experiences on other platforms in which constructive criticism between certain members also takes place), there is a tendency of rather brash criticism above what is necessary to get ones point straightened.

MM I don't disagree with your jacket analogy, but that's an entirely different point. My point is that what you said was insulting: a qualitative description of your comment. As to whether it's directed to someone's "personality" or their appearance, that's another matter. If someone says to you "you look good", you would take it as a compliment, no? Obviously, as to the way you look, but a compliment none-the-less.
Try this if my point remains unclear: next time you see a big guy in the street, and you have your walther PPK- SP22 and you don't like his look, go up and say: "you look like a fucking arsehole". Let me know if you manage to get out any of your explanation that you were not really insulting him, just the way he looked, before your teeth are on the floor

its not really ironic so long as it was a fashion forum who's aims plainly included critical analysis of aesthetic. then id even welcome it. unnecessary to equate us with random people who laugh at us because we dont look like every other tourist with flip flops and cargo shorts on the subway. its ironic that we can tear a margiela collection to bits in the designer forum but when we find fault with an individual's aesthetic were worse than pol pot like were all of a sudden completely ignorant and cant wrap our heads around a bad joke.

Do you only decide to post on days when you're in a bad mood or is it that you're in a bad mood every day?

How do you not understand that there are different factions of people who enjoy clothing that don't fall into the 'flip flop' category who would still openly suggest that a lot of us on here dress like fools? It's 100% subjective.

You're trying to simplify and pigeonhole and as a result, you're all worked up over yourself.

I'm still trying to figure out that PM you sent to me last month where you laid into me about something I had absolutely nothing to do with and had no knowledge of what you were referring to.
