Actually, I think DHC was accurate and rather specific in his first post.
In some ways, the color of the shoes is irrelevant - it is the color and (especially) the weight of the double soles, combined with heel, and the contrast with the upper, that causes the visual discomfort....

i get what you're saying een and i've been thinking that indeed it is a combination of shape and color that makes the boot have such an impact on a look. that was my initial take on it. personally i love the shape, the weight, the double sole, etc. the boot itself is superb. it could be perhaps that a boot that shape should not be such a standout color. but before i dye them i think i'll keep trying to work it out.

BBYY, great look, and i agree with faust, the only thing i can blame would be about the jeans lenght. maybe too much stacking makes one look shorter, more specificly in a full black outfit.

It's comfortable, sharp and a go-everywhere look that doesn't make you feel like you need to strip it all off the moment you get home.

Really like the outfit holger. Seems very natural. When posting in this thread i think it's hard not to look contrived, not that i would know from personal experience. But i often feel that it's a bit of a game of dress up - sentiments that have been voiced here before if i'm not mistaken. this is a nice contrast, and even more relevant given the proceedings these last several pages. I especially enjoy the texture and fit of the pants - boiled wool? anyways, well done.
