Thanks all. I think I need to do something about the length. A fellow member who has the same pair (Aleks) suggested a great idea I could try without cutting the gorgeous leather away.
Well you know what they say rick goes well with...
This kinda doesn't work for me.
Edit: When I say that I mean that the three things we see here have 3 very different narratives IMO, which just don't add up to one story. Also, I much prefer those trousers with the little attached skirt bit and w/o the bootleg, these are always going to be hard to pull off. Maybe chunky boots? Something darker, thinner and longer as a top. Or just cut the trousers off, wear them 3/4 cropped with some combats.
i think the proportions are throwing everything off. the length of the top is almost covering your entire crotch so your legs just look super short. it'd be alright with a pair of trousers that didn't have a bootleg. or if you're going to wear a long top it needs to be like, not a knit

Chris, the proportions are distorted a lot cos of the angle, as I took the photo inside my room (hence short distance). And, MrB, altering is always a possibillity, although I have way too many slim fitting trousers.
Thanks a lot for the insightful commentary guys.
